Tanzania is where it all started for us! We’ll spend two days exploring and vibing in Dar es Salaam and a day on Safari before heading over to the beautiful island of Zanzibar where we’ll bring in the New Year and experience 7 days of pure Swahili culture. From the majestic streets of Stonetown to the white-sand beaches of Nungwi, you’ll have an experience that you’ll never forget.

What is Yacht Week East Africa?

Yacht Week East Africa is a travel company that celebrates East African culture. For our Tanzania land-based tour, we spend 10 days experiencing the Swahili coast; from the bustling city of Dar es Salaam to the majestic streets of Stonetown and white-sand beaches of Nungwi on Zanzibar island. We also spend a day at game rich Mikumi National Park.  Please note that Yacht Week East Africa is not associated with any other yachting events taking place in other regions of the world. ***

Can you elaborate on the “tentative” itinerary?

While we expect to maintain our established itinerary, we reserve the right to change routing and/or the order of events in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions. Any changes will be communicated to guests as early as possible.

How do I reserve my spot?

Once the booking window opens, you’ll be able to select your boat level, and Click on the “reserve my spot” link. You will then be able to make a $500 deposit that will reserve your spot. Afterwards, there will be 6 monthly auto- payments to the same method of payment.

What is your roommate policy?

Once you’ve reserved your spot, we’ll pair you with a roommate. If you have your own roommate, you’ll be able to list them on the guest registration documents that you’ll receive after booking.

What is the refund policy?

A full refund, (less the $500 non-refundable deposit), is possible up until 120 days before the start of the event. Email us at [email protected] if you need to cancel. Alternatively, you can transfer your reservation to another person.

How do I get to the Tanzania?

If you are coming from the US, the major airlines that conduct the routes are: Kenya Airways, (from NYC through Nairobi), Emirates, (through Dubai), KLM, (through Amsterdam), and Turkish Airlines, (through Istanbul). If you are coming from South Africa, you can fly direct from Johannesburg via South African Airlines. If you are coming from the UK, Turkish Airlines and Kenya Airways are viable options.

Are there any medical shots required before visiting Kenya?

No medical shots are required before visiting Tanzania.

Is a Visa required to visit Tanzania?

Yes. It costs $100 and can be purchased beforehand or on-arrival.
